Varios países de Europa y Asia seguían afectados por temperaturas de hasta 50ºC. En España, que declaró la alerta roja. tres personas han muerto por la intensa ola de calor.  En Holanda han sido cerradas algunas carreteras porque el calor derritió parte del pavimento.

Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Thursday (2 August 2018) experienced its hottest day on record since 1951 as the temperature reached 38.4 degrees Celsius. The temperature was recorded at 3:48 p.m., exceeding the previous high of 38.3 degrees Celsius on July 18, 1952, according to the city meteorological bureau. The city started to keep complete weather records in 1951. Records show hottest days usually occur in June or July.
